I created these four spot illustrations for uni to accompany an article named “Four simple changes to be more environmentally friendly”.
1. Move your money to an ethical bank account! Our money doesn’t just lay around, the banks use the money. And many invest in fossil fuels, projects that harm human rights, the arms industry, … For people living in Germany, I would recommend the GLS Bank and Triodos. But there are many more ethical banks!
2. Buy green electricity! Fossil fuels are the number one cause for climate change. But there are suppliers of electric energy that only provide renewable energy and invest in new solar plants, wind turbines, etc.
3. Try a plant based diet! Animal products are responsible for 14.5% of greenhouse gas emissions and over 80% of deforestation. Try some vegan recipes, it’s easier than you think. And there are loads of great vegan-food-content-creators!
4. Be an activist! We cannot tackle climate change as individuals. What we need is political change. Learn about the global impact of climate change and then make yourself heard!
