The book ‘florilegium’ was my final major project at uni. I’ve been writing for a few years now and my bachelor’s project was the perfect oportunity to turn stories into an illustrated project. In winter, I wrote the fairy tales for the book. They are inspired by emotions, thoughts, and experiences I’ve had. They cover topics like trauma, depression, social anxiety, and self confidence. Some come from a very personal place. To me, it was important to handle all topics carefully and with an optimistic view. When I was happy with all stories, I sat down to create the design, scribbles for every page, sketches, and the final illustrations. It was a joy to experiement with my art, developing a style and finally finding something I can call my own.
