Have you heard of animal sanctuaries?
I created this illustration to accompany an article I wrote for a uni project. I visited an animal sanctuary and interviewed their founder. She built the sanctuary for animals that would otherwise be killed – too old, crippled, not of use any longer. Another purpose is to educate about the animal industry and its impacts – on animals, the environment, and humans. Being vegan myself, it was a topic close to my heart. By German law, animals are considered objects, hence the subtile (“This isn’t an object.”)
